Today we again look at subtraction, adding, multiplication and division, before you think I’m teaching the same lesson the same children I’m not, haven’t gone that crazy yet!!
We started off playing a short version of bingo. I placed sums on the board between 1-30 and the children had to work out the answer and see if they have the number. This got the children working out the basic with small number first and then we did build it up which did test my brian! The hard part was making sure I didn’t double up on my numbers!

This is an example of the children writing the diagram in their books and then crossing out the numbers.

This was me just writing out the sums which I want the children to complete
We then moved onto a different game where I placed a number in the middle of the board and the children had to find one way in which they can make this number. We did try and get the rule is that once that number was used you can’t use it but it did get hard for them. We kept to the rule of no switching the number around as that’s cheating!

This is what the board looked at the start. We did need to add more arrows as we went on.

This is what the board would look like once we finished.
We then moved onto our final game which was much harder. This is where I gave the children a number they had to make, however they only had certain numbers they could use. This got them thinking at the start the children didn’t understand but I was able to show them and they got it. We had the same rule you can’t flip the numbers around!
