After settling into my hostel, I found a friend called Kaveri. On Tuesday night, we decided to go out and sightsee some of the local area. So we decided we would go to a very tourist hotspot area called Marine Drive, which is a 3.6 km long promenade along the Arabian Sea. The Marine Drive is also known for being called the Queen Necklace, this is because when you view it from an elevated view you can see a necklace which has strings of pearls which are represented by the street lights. The reason why this is such a high tourist area is due to the sunset and the many local markets, which you can see from the coast, unfortunately, I was unable to get there in time, but I will before I leave. We sat on the side and I learnt so much about the area. Across the coast on the left-hand side is where all the rich and more privileged people live. After just sitting and taking in all of the views and the sea air it was time for dinner. For dinner, I tried a Sada (plain) Dosa with Sambhar Daal and chutney. When I asked what is this it was was described as an English pancake, apart from not having Nutella! It was very nice even if I just had a plain one but next time I will go back and add a topping.
This is one of the photos which I took while at Marine Drive, looking over the coast to the more privileged area which is located on the left-hand side when looking at the picture.
