This morning I went for a walk a walk around this park called Oval Maidan which is approx 22 acres. The park is surrounded by historical monuments including: Mumbai High Court, Mumbai Uni and Rajabai Clock tower. Despite being known for its cricket it’s also used for football and highly popular for people running and walking in the morning or evenings. The reason to why it’s called the Oval is due to its elliptical shape.
Oval Maidan is known for cricket. On any given day, apparently I could find dozens of informal cricket matches being played simultaneously. However Sunday is the best day to go and see this around 10:30. It’s a breeding ground for young talent and a favourite spot for coaching camps. Many aspiring cricketers from Mumbai have honed their skills here.
When I entered the park I just can’t believe what I saw. How many people can you fit in an open grass area playing cricket, there was so many games happening. So many tennis balls being smashed around the park you had to keep your eyes open.
When I arrived a few boys came up to ask me if I wanted to play, I did have a bit of a play with them, they were quite surprised a girl could play cricket! They were saying that most Sundays there is also a cricket tournament which happens, however people come with friends to just to hit a tennis ball around.

This is only one side of the park

This is the other side of the park

These are the bots who asked me to play cricket and told me more about the park.

The trophies which were up for grab, they were massive!

Another angle of how busy this park was.
